Milk Powder ki Mithai
A quick and easy milk cake recipe, made with milk powder but tastes exactly like the traditional Halwai wala milk cake!
Ingredients:
Milk powder 8-10 tablespoons
Clarified butter 2 tablespoons
Sugar 5 tablespoons (can add or reduce as per your liking)
Green cardamom powder
Slivered Pistachios 5-6
Water to make batter
Method:
1. Take milk powder and ghee in a steel box which has a tight lid. Mix little water to make a lump-free batter. The consistency of batter shouldn't neither be thick nor runny.
2. Next up, pour a glass of water in a big pressure cooker and place a stand in it (just like we keep while making Dhokla).
3. Now, cover the box with its lid tightly secured and put it on the stand. Cover your pressure cooker with the whistle.
4. Keep the cooker on low flame and let it whistle atleast 5-6 times. Once done, switch off the flame and let the pressure release.
5. Now take out the steel box carefully (caution since it will be hot) and let it cool.
6. Next, pour out the contents in a pan, add sugar and keep stirring to avoid burning.
7. Once the sugar is absorbed, you will get a nice brown colour khoya.
8. Take out the contents of the pan and set it in a greased plate to cool.
9. Cut into long strips or the shape you desire and garnish with slivered pistachios n sprinkle freshly crushed green cardamom (optional).
